Just a few photos from Cripple Creek’s annual Ice Festival that’s held during two weekends during the month of February each year. The festival is a lot of fun and normally the weather is very nice. This year, we managed to have predictions of a blizzard for the last weekend of the festival, so there weren’t as many visitors as normal. Still, it was a lot of fun and the sculptures were outstanding, as always.
It was 11º F at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night with some light snow outside, but inside of the entertainment tent it was nice and warm. There was an ice bar (sculpture) that was pretty cool. Also, a winery was represented and served (of course) wine. The band that was playing was very good and their music was pretty diverse, so there was something for everyone. People were visiting with each other while others were dancing. A good time was had by all!
