Summer is here and once again it’s time to think about wildfires in our area. We can’t always prevent them, but we can minimize the damage they cause.
Fire mitigation is very important and it’s something that you need to spend some time thinking about if you haven’t already done so. It’s not a “one time” thing that you do, but rather an ongoing process to help maintain the safety of your home. Fire mitigation includes, but is not limited to, creating a defensible space. That means trimming trees correctly, keeping wood piles at a safe distance from your home, eliminating as many “flamable” items near your home as you can, and a variety of other items.
