Fred’s VFW Memorial Service

As many of you know, Fred Hornby served in the military and was a Vietnam veteran. He lived in Cripple Creek for many years and, besides helping people in his community, he also worked at Cripple Creek Ace Hardware for the past seven years. Fred passed away last Friday, May 11th. He will be missed.

The VFW in Cripple Creek is holding a memorial service for Fred this Friday. The service will be at 11:30 a.m. and should last about 20-30 minutes. It will be held at the Aspen Mine Center, 2nd floor. Alternate location for the service (depending on the number of people attending) will be the Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation Building.

Rest in Peace, Fred….

    • Sorry that you had to be at the Dr. Hope everything is O.K. The service was nice. Dennis Peck facilitated the service, Fred’s brother, sister-in-law and Rex as well as Nikki spoke. The VFW talked briefly and they played the Marine hymn. There was a luncheon afterward so people could visit and share memories of Fred.
