What is Fix-It Fest?

October is a great time to get your home ready for winter, work on indoor and outdoor projects, and assure that you’re prepared in case of a fire. At Ace, we’re here to help you with that!

Both our Cripple Creek and our Florissant Ace Hardware, Lumber & Supply stores will be hosting a Fix-It Fest in conjunction with Fire Safety Month this Saturday, October 20th, from 11-2. We’ll have products for your home, demonstrations, and free samples. Come and learn about the benefits of e-cloth and how you can clean your sinks, tubs, counters, windows, mirrors and more without any chemicals. Discover Hero Clean and how it helps with the toughest stains, smells, and messes on your clothes, in your house, and on other items that you have while also donating part of their profits to Veterans and First Responders groups. Learn why Shark Bite is the perfect connector for your plumbing needs with no special tools required. It works with a variety of plumbing materials, so it makes it easy to go from one type of pipe to another. Just push it on and you’re ready to go! No soldering, crimping or glue. See why Flex-Tape is a great solution for roof leaks, RV and camper repairs, gutters, personal water crafts, hoses, pipes, and more. It can be applied hot or cold, wet or dry, and even under water.

Our local fire departments will be on hand at both stores with fire trucks. Bring the family and climb on the fire trucks to get a first hand look at them. Talk to First Responders about fire safety in your home. See if you have the correct smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers for your needs (we have them on sale now) and if they’re located where they should be. If you aren’t sure you know how to use a fire extinguisher correctly, this will be the time to ask. We have free fire hats and activity books for the kids.

Both stores have begun stocking some new food items and we’ll have samples for you to try. Come and taste test Dot’s pretzels and two different flavors of Brownie Brittle. You’ll be glad you did! And, as always on Saturdays, we’ll have fresh caramel corn in the stores for you to munch on while you shop or take with you.

Our Florissant Ace store will have the Philly Sandwich food truck there, from 11-2ish, so it’s the perfect time to give it a try. Cripple Creek Ace is planning on having the Hatch Fresh Roasted Chilies vendor in the parking lot, also from 11-2ish. The Philly’s and the Chilies smell amazing when you drive past them, so you might want to come to both!

In addition to what we’ve already planned, we’ll also be accepting donations to the Children’s Miracle Network. Ace Hardware (corporate) and both our Cripple Creek & Florissant stores are proud supporters of this worthwhile cause which, for our area, is Children’s Hospital Colorado. US News & World Report 2018-2019 ranked Children’s Hospital¬†Colorado in the top 10 of children’s hospitals in the United States. That’s quite an honor and distinction! Donating to the Children’s Miracle Network is a wonderful way to help children and their families who are dealing with health care issues, fund pediatric medical equipment, as well as provide additional non-medical support. Donations to the Children’s Miracle Network stays with our local CMN hospital, so it helps your families and neighbors. We’ll have donation jars near the registers at both stores and would appreciate anything that you can contribute to help with this cause.

We hope to see you and your families at our Cripple Creek and/or Florissant Ace Hardware, Lumber & Supply stores this Saturday from 11-2 to help us celebrate Fix-It Fest. It will be a fun time for everyone!
