June 2019 Activities in and around Our Local Area

June is going to be a busy month full of fun things to do this year and you should start making plans now! There are a variety of activities and events in Cripple Creek, Florissant, and Victor. Craft shows, street dancing, rodeo, shows at the Butte, Donkey Derby Days, rock show, art show, and much more. Check out the options below:

Top of the World RodeoJune 8-9th – Cripple Creek. From mutton busting, bull riding and a parade to rodeo competitions, the Top of the World Rodeo has it all! Longhorn steers, Belgian draft horses, Pancake breakfast, street vendors, food, live music, mechanical bull, and a street dance will keep you busy and entertained.

The Butte Theater – The Butte has several shows running this summer. It’s a fun place to go, it’s historical and beautiful inside, and there’s something for everyone, so click on the link and check it out. Reservations are available online or you can get tickets at the door.

Craft Show and Flea Market – June 8th – Florissant Grange from 9:00 – 3:00.

Victor Sunnyside Cemetary Walking ToursStarting June 8th – Victor. Learn about this 1890’s cemetery, some of the residents who are buried there, and local history of the gold rush days. Dates of tour vary.

Summer Music Series in Cripple CreekJune 15th – Free music by Colorado’s Horn Powered Pop/Rock band, the Martini Shot! You won’t want to miss it!

Victor Gem and Mineral ShowJune 14th – 16th – Victor. Vendors will have a variety of gems and minerals available for sale. Items will vary, but will include polished stones, jewelry, rough slabs, and geodes for breaking.

Donkey Derby DaysJune 22nd – 23rd – Cripple Creek. Pancake breakfast, donkey races, beer garden, games, live music, street vendors, petting zoo, photos with baby donkeys, free admission to the Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, dog show, and much, much more! Once Upon a Time in the West Art ShowJune 29th – July 8th – Cripple Creek. Show will be at the Heritage Center and will feature talented artists and western art in a variety of mediums. High schools will benefit by receiving 10% of all sales to help with art programs.

The Florissant Grange – Every Wednesday night in Florissant from 6-9. Potluck dinner and music by the Jammers. Wednesdays are great nights for fun, food, fellowship, dancing, and music. Come and bring your family for a good time. If you play an instrument or sing, you can join in, too!
